3 Quick Tips for a Stress-Free Morning
1.
Prepare for your day the night before
Each night, think
ahead to the next day. Where will you be going, and what will
you need to take with you? Before you go to bed, decide what
you'll prepare for breakfast, pack the kids' lunches, set the timer on the
coffee pot, choose your outfit (including accessories), and set
anything you need to take with you near the door. Have the kids
set out their clothes and put everything they'll need for the
next day in their backpacks. You'll be
amazed at how much easier this makes the morning!
2. Pick
up around the house before you go to bed
Take ten minutes each
evening to go through the house, putting things away and
neatening everything. This might include loading and running the
dishwasher, gathering all the kids' toys and tossing them in a
large bin or laundry basket, straightening the pillows on the sofa,
and picking clothes up off the bedroom floor. Get the kids
involved, and have them do what they're able to help. It will
feel wonderful to wake in the morning to a neat, welcoming
environment!
3.
Plan ahead
Spend ten minutes each night planning how you'll spend your
time the next day. What
do you need to do to feel productive and fulfilled? Use a
colorful index card to list your appointments. Then list no
more than three or four tasks to focus on that will move you
forward toward your goals. Daily maintenance can easily take
up all of our time if we let it. And remember to schedule time
in your calendar for family, friends,
faith, and health. These are the really important things in
life!
Blessings to you,
and happy organizing!
